Hi All,
My name is K. Hi from Colorado where FALL is in the air (freezing last 2 nights). If you know what VLC/PSMF are then whish me luck LOL!
A little about me and my dieting: I am 43, back in college for a 2nd and fat. I've struggled with weight all my life but was able to maintain. From 2006 until about 2010 I was an extremely active jogger (15 miles per week) and hiker here in the foothills above Denver. My health went to crap due to an injury and the last four years have been hell for me. I suffer from chronic pain due to a pretty severe neck condition. I am hoping surgery in the next few months will correct part of the pain and allow me to be active again. My diet plan is tenatively PSMF for 1-2 months and transition slowly through refeeding. I'd be very happy learning to live with a Weight Watchers style diet.
So why VLC/PSMF?
Three weeks ago I was in to see my doctor for pain-blocking injections for my neck. I saw his diagnosis for my neck blah - blah and I also saw the words MORBIDLY OBESE. That totally demoralized me. I jumped on the scale and saw that I was 2lbs away from my highest weight ever (back in 2005). The last few weeks I've been trying to find my motivation to loose 40lbs - 50lbs. So, I decided to go back to the diet I was most successful on. I am going to work with a therapist for underlying issues on self esteem as well.
I've done the Cleveland Clinics Modified Fast before with a lot of success. That was back in 2006. I did it under a doctors care. This time I am skipping supervised plan and paying out for the shakes and blood work. I am focusing on the 12g Carbs/120g Protien and low fat guidelines. I will have an EKG and blood work done next month with my provider. My goal is 820 - 1000 calories daily.
I am taking it Hour-by-Hour, Day-by-Day and plan to weigh in 2x a week for the first two weeks.
I'll shut up now LOLOLOL
