Hi there people,
I have been doing the Rosemary Conley diet for 1 week now and its going ok. Im interested in if anyone knows what happens after you have finished the initial 4 week period and move onto the bmr calories? basically i am short and i am looking to get down to 8 stone but reading the book it says my calorie allowance (BMR) will be 1259 once i have reached this weight which is basically saying that i can only have 59 calories per day which are alcohol or high fat calories otherwise I will gain weight again - surely this cant be right?? I dont think I am going to be able to survive this if I am only allowed that per day for a treat!
Sorry I have probably majorly confused anyone who hasnt done this diet before, but hoping to find someone who has to enlighten me!
Thanks!

My guess is that you'll gain weight back because this is another "eat only this, none of that" kind of diet that isn't sustainable and teaches you nothing about how to eat. Learn to eat properly, for life. Good luck.0

I don't do Rosemary Conley now but many years ago after having my 2 sons I did do one of her 2 week diets to lose the last 1/2 stone I still had after the kids and it worked well then and stayed off for many years. It can and does teach you portion size and healthy food choices but the lack of any fats is too much for me now I am older. Good luck and make sure you do the recommended exercise too.0

Sounds like a diet created to sell books and not sound medical advice.
Go get some sound medical advice and then use that.0 -

Hmmm it doesnt state that if i do extra exercise i can eat more but would this work if my BMR is 1259 and i burn say 200kcals per day, do you think I could have my alcohol and a choc treat or something?0

I think you're confusing BMR with TDEE.0

This will answer your question and more. Also provide some insight to a healthy lifestyle, not just The "celebrity of the day" Diet.
I'm just gonna leave this right here.

Wow thanks for all that info a hell of a lot of reading very interesting stuff especially about the whooshing and squishy fat as I have actually had that a few times and thought I wasnt losing any weight and would revert back to old eating habits, but now i know to stick with it!0

It does work, I never thought I could lose 35lbs and here I am. This site has helped me tremendously. Just by following a deficit and exercising. And my depression has gone way down and I haven't binged once since I started. Though I'm really tempted at times. I've met some wonderful people here that help me put down the spoon and back away from the fridge.0
