Is this amount of exercise enough or too much?

Hi!

So I was wondering am I doing enough or too much exercise for losing weight and toning up.(I am also eating healthy) Each day I cycle about 10 km in about 40 mins to university and back home. I also do yoga for 40 min three times a week. for the other three times a week I am doing exercises at gym lifting weights and stuff. Is it too much? Should I cut out the gym and focus on yoga? I don't want to stop yoga because that is something I love doing and I feel so good after that.. Other suggestions are much appreciated!

Nope, all seems reasonable to me.

    Light daily cardio.
    Yoga sessions 3x weekly.
    Strength training 3x weekly.

    Overall fairly balanced.
  • I think if you are enjoying the exercise, that can never be a bad thing.

My own opinion is that the extra exercise lets you eat back more, which means you end up being more likely to intake the trace vitamins/minerals/micronutrients that are easily to miss on a restricted diet. I walk at least 3 miles daily (M-F) to/from the commuter rail and office, plus typically another 40-70 minutes of cardio, then stretching, calisthenics, and light lifting on top of that - that's 1 1/2 to 2 hours daily (7 days) exercise. I also use a standing desk, so there's some minor uptick there.

On the downside, my food costs are annoyingly high.
