Hi all,
My calorie intake is 1270. My question is if wanting as a goal 2" smaller waist and hip, ten pounds in a month are these realistic goals? That is my optimal, for progress I would be ok with 1" and five pound loss in four weeks.

In a word, no. But if you want to set realistic goals based on a realistic and workable program, I suggest you

It depends on a lot of things, particularly your starting weight. I would advise against setting deadlines for your weight loss/ goals in a month. It only leads to disappointment. Instead set those goals as a "one day" thing and set goals for "stay within my calorie goal" and "don't eat junk for a week".0

Thank you very much. According to what I read a four pounds a month is what I need to be targeting. I know that slower is better. I have tried the hardcore and it works but it's impossible for me to keep that intensity. I want reality where I am exercising, healthy understanding that I will have days when I eat great and others when I don't. I'm 43 and I want to be healthy and fit. Not set unrealistic expectations that then become self defeating.0

4 lbs a month sounds a lot more realistic than 10 but be aware that you will not lose 1 pound/week and you will not lose for the first few weeks.
If you start seriously counting calories now and adding some form of exercise you should see results in about 6 weeks, but in my experience and by reading these blogs the weight in the beggining does not drop at a constant rate. My point is that having goals is good but don't put it all on the numbers or time. Just start with "I want to lose weight and look better" then track your progress rather than expect certain results. Once you get the hang of it all you will be able to adjust and understand it better.

Thank you for the advice! I think not attaching a inner is a good idea and I didn't know about the not looking at first.0
