I've heard that vitamin B is essential for well-being, but that it also helps with weight loss (or more specifically, it's supposed to help the body metabolize carbs/fats/etc.). I don't know very much about the specific types, or what I really need. I went to the store and found a HUGE variety, some containing only one B type (usually B6 or B12), and some containing all the B's. Some had only 10mg, while others had up to 100 and even 1000mg!

What's really necessary? What's overkill? And what should I be aiming for? I bought one that has 1000mg total, 100 each of the "important" B vitamins (but I kept the receipt, juuust in case!).

Thank you, everyone!! :flowerforyou:

Ps, I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I'm female (lol), 22 years old, NOT planning on having babies anytime soon (some of the bottles mentioned pregnancy benefits??), and I'm 5'4, weighing approx 165-170lbs :) I eat fairly well, but I don't think I get enough vitamin B, so I'm hoping to supplement it and help my body out!

I have been taking the Spring Valley B-150 from Wal-Mart for YEARS!! A Dr recommended it for relief of Tension/Migrane Headaches. I couldn't believe it really did help!! Now when I am stressed or anxious about things, I double up on it for a few days (it is water soluble so you don't have to worry about over dosing).

From what I remember the amount in your pills is close to what I remember being in the B-100 Capsules. That is the one I prefer, or the B-150 if it is available.

The bottle I am using right now is Super B-Complex because Wal Mart was out of the B-150 the last time I was there. I don't think there is too much difference.
    C--150 mg.....250%
    B1--100mg.....666%
    B2--20 mg......1176%
    B3--25 mg......125%
    B6--2 mg.........100%

    Folic--400 mcg...100%
    B12--15 mcg.......15 mcg%
    Biotin--3.8mcg.....less than 1%
    Pantothenic Acid--5mg......50%

I also take a Biotin Capsule daily (5000 mcg) which was recommended by my Beauty operator when my hair started falling out.
    Hope this helps.
