I try not to eat out too much and n prepare food at home but today I was in hurry and I forgot my food at home.Ibhave to buy somrthing for lunch at Lebanesse restraurant close to my work. The problem is I can't log and weigh this food .So how do you deal with days when you are away and weighing the food is not option? I have them here and there and I am worried that they are going to add up.

Sooooooo not what I thought this thread was about!!!

    Moving on though!

get some thing not covered in sauce- ask for dressing/condiments on the side and take your best guess.

A Lebanese place should have a really nice grilled salmon Samak tajin or honey lemon chicken.

They make a fantastic Lebanese salad- which is a garlic lemon vinegarette which is to die for- you can get straight plain grilled chicken on that.

I take my best guess. I try to eat out at places where they have the nutritional information available. I also try to stay on the low side of my calorie goal (while still eating enough to prevent muscle loss) for the next few days to make sure that it evens out. 100-200 calorie deficit for 3-4 days will counteract any hidden calories I was not aware of.

All you can do is make the best choices, and make the best estimates from the database.
When we eat out (which is often), I try to order some sort of meat and double vegetables (rather than the rice). Nothing against rice, I just figure the meal is higher in calories than a "normal" home cooked meal, so no need for calorie dense rice.

It's a tough call between chains (that have nutritional info online) and smaller restaurants that don't. I tend to opt for non-chain restaurants...
Regardless find an approach that works for you. After you've lost the weight, and for the rest of your life, you'll be eating out... so you need a "user friendly" strategy.

    Good luck!
