How long does it take for your metabolism to decrease?

Long story:
In June, I started eating 700-900 calories a day. I did this for three and a half weeks. I was having chest pain (turned out to be indigestion) and I heard a story about a woman who died I heart problems when she did a 500 calorie diet. I decided to eat more, and went up to 1200. My weight stayed the same for 6 weeks. I started excercise on top of that (not eating back calories) and continued to lose. I stopped exercise and continued to eat 1200 (actually between 1100 and 1200, I never ate over) my weight slowly decreased (like, 1.5 lbs in 3 weeks). I started exercise again (same diet) and dropped weight quickly (5-7lbs in 3 weeks). Now, I've eaten 800-900 calories a day for the past week with some exercise. I was very stressed out and lost a grip. Some weight came off but I'm not focusing on that. Right now I am not in the best state I mind and I want to halt exercise for a bit. I feel like I want to keep losing, even though my doctor said I shouldn't (5'4 105ish lbs at 19, I used to weigh 137). I'll post a current picture as soon as I post this.
This whole cycle has lasted from June to now. After eating 900 calories for the past week, do you think I would gain if I ate at 1200 again without exercise? Has my metabolism slowed down in this time period? If I eat more again, would that raise my metabolism?
I'm sorry that I'm constantly posting things like this. I'm not comfortable bringing this up with my doctor currently (my next appointment is in October, so I'd rather wait till then) and I do have an appointment with a therapist set up later this week. I just want some advice as to what to do NOW, until those appointments.

Eating more WILL raise your metabolism. Eat more. At 5'4" you should be over 117lbs. for general health, I think.0

I would definitely eat more, seriously. I know it sounds crazy, but you will start to feel better if you eat more and stop stressing your body out by under eating.0

I'd suggest you follow your doctor's advice - stop trying to lose weight. Eat a balanced diet. I don't know how many calories per day but I'm sure anything below 1200 is too low.
I would suggest you print this post right now (and your prior posts) to take with you to your therapist meeting this week. It also might be helpful to print out your food diary as well.0 -
You should probably build up to eating more calories each day. You may gain more weight if you suddenly double your calories overnight (unless a doctor tells you this is medically necessary).0

Eat!!! What you are doing is, on the face of it, unhealthy!! Take the advice of your doctor and other professionals!0
