What a week's difference makes in changing eating habits

Before I was consuming about 16000 calories a week. I'm trying to cut down to about 14500 a week. What I noticed is that by having fruits and veggies and cold drinks (like Vitamin Water Zero) accessible somehow diminishes my appetite. For example, if I want to eat, then I reach for some grapes instead. A few grapes fill me up even after a 500-calorie burn from a workout. By the end of the day, I consume about 900 calories tops. I know it sounds like a little but i eat a bit more on the weekend and I need to drop 20lbs. I guess a lot of my eating was due to boredom.
