Confused with fitbit flex

I didn't know my husband was getting me a fitbit for my birthday, so I also got a polar FT4 for myself. Well Saturday, he gives me the fitbit flex.

I have worn it everyday since, but I'm so confused by it. Would it be stupid to wear both the fitbit and the polar when working out?

I don't know what it is, but the flex just seems user unfriendly. :/

I have both a fitbit and a polar watch and absolutely love both of them. I wear the fitbit all day every day and only the polar watch when working out. When I am done working out I log my workouts into the fitbit app and adjust the calories I burned according to what the polar watch says. I think they work great when you use them together!

And give the fitbit time, it definitely takes awhile to get used to! I have had mine for almost a year and am still learning things about it. If you give it a chance you will fall in love with it!

Yes you can use both. Use the fitbit for all day activity monitoring and use the HRM for workouts.

Record workouts as a tracked activity on your fitbit account. Enter the time you started the workout, the duration and the calorie burn. This will override any steps/calories burn registered on fitbit so there wont be any double counting.

The Fitbits have a learning curve. And the site is confusing. Are there specific questions you have?

Do you have your Fitbit account linked to your MFP account? It's really nice to have Fitbit tell MFP how much it estimates you burned every day, so your MFP calorie recommendation is based on that info. If you use MFP's plan, that is. You don' t need to understand the Fitbit really well to make that work out. Just link your accounts, wear your Fitbit all day, manually log any non-steps-based workouts (strength, yoga, cycling, swimming) and eat what level MFP tells you.
