BALANCE- too much vs. not enough

I don't know if anyone else struggles with this, but I am finding striking a balance extremely difficult. I am aware of everything I eat- logging even a tsp of seasoning or a quarter of a peach- and it is making me so highly aware that I can't seem to eat a thousand calories a day (although I do get close). Now- when I say I CAN'T, obviously I mean, it pains me to do so. I feel like that last 100-200 calories is all that is holding me back from careening head first down a hill of CAKE and PIZZA!!! How do I strike a balance??? The one thing I DO NOT NEED is for my metabolism to slow down even more than it already has. :/

Suggestions?

Check out and read a lot of the Eat More to Lose Weight website & group on here. There are women on there who are eating 2000+ calories and losing weight. I'm currently maintaining easily around 2000 and was losing at 1800...and I'm 45 yrs old! You may learn some stuff and they are amazing support!

Under 1000 calories is way too little to lose weight - you are likely to have your metabolism slow way down. I'm also going to check out the group- eat more to lose weight.

Maybe tell yourself you're going to hit your entire MFP calorie goal every day for one week and see how much you lose over that week, then compare it to prior weeks when you fell short. Sometimes some hard data is helpful.

Learning to not get obsessive with logging helps, too. Dry seasonings aren't worth your time, unless you track sodium closely. Try some post-logging. Put the scale away for a few days. Just experiment with baby steps away from the "too much" mentality.

    Good luck!
