So just how did you lose this weight?

Here's a fun (sort of) NSV. I was giving blood yesterday, the first time in about 2-1/2 months, and they had to weigh me before I could donate. The tech noticed I was down 16 pounds and had to call a manager over to verify how I'd lost the weight. I told them "exercise and tracking everything I eat". They looked a tad bit suspicious (!) but accepted my answer and let me donate.

It's funny, when people ask how you lost the weight and you don't mention fad diets or diet pills, they seem suspicious. What does that say about the "diet" industry in America.

Definitely an NSV...and I agree with you, it says a LOT when people seriously think you're lying when you give the honest answer.

I agree. It seems people hate to believe that basic things everyone can do like exercise and tracking calories can actually result in weight loss. They want to hear that you had to go on a crazy fad diet or diet pills or do so much exercise, aka things they see as unrealistic, that way they can justify not losing weight themselves.

I was at a dinner party this weekend, and someone couldn't believe I hadn't had surgery. The "eat less, eat nutritiously, and exercise" option just didn't make sense. Oh well!
