I am just wondering how important variation is to weight loss. Due to personal issues I only tend to eat the same thing for breakfast and lunch at least 5/7 days and then tea really varies dependent on my mood. I am just wondering if this can actually hinder weight loss?

If it fits your macros, it's fine.

IMO, for health yes... variation is important. For weight loss... no, I don't think it matters all that much.

Please explain what you mean by this...why would eating different things every day be better for your health?

For weight loss, the only thing that's important is eating at a calorie deficit. I pretty much eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch and snacks every day too. Although I will try to mix it up every few months so I don't get bored as that leads to temptation (for me). Dinner is always different.

Eating a wide variety of food ensures you get wide spectrum of nutrients... it's really not too radical of an idea.

Some vitamins can effect our metabolism and if a diet that doesn't change much is deficient in some of those nutrients, can effect how we burn calories. Basically it's better to get a variety of foods that and other reasons....boredom for example.

Okay thank you everyone :) I pretty much like eating the same thing but think more variation here and there will curb future boredom!
