Hi, I just started this thing yesterday. I play roller derby, so Im not really wanting to lose a ton of weight, just not add any, tone up any problem areas, and not eat beyond what I'm working off. I have a decent fitness routine outside of skating, but I've added some things to it here recently.

I go to the gym 5 days a week, and alternate between running, the elliptical, zumba, cardio circuit and abs classes. I also skate for 2 hours, 3 days a week. I do eat a lot though, so I'm trying to stop that, and then lose all of the extra chub that skating doesnt get rid of.

I'm a stay at home mother of two, so eating is probably my biggest issue, because I'll finish whatever the kids don't eat, and I snack whenever they want to snack. Its kind of counterproductive to what I do in the gym and on the track.

Harley - what team do you skate for? I used to be an official for the Charm City Roller Girls in Baltimore. I decieded to be a fan so that I can cheer for my favorite skaters!! Once I lose some more weight I will be roller skating, just not for derby :)

    Welcome!

For you, since all your exercise is cardio, you really need to pick up a strength routine, at least 3 times a week to add muscle tone. You won't tone up with only cardio exercise.

The cardio circuit class actually has some upper body strength training in it, which is brutal for me, since I'm all lower body strength. I figure for now, its a start to do more than 10 push ups LOL.
