Picturing Myself Fit

Hi All.

I'm late 50's , 5'10", and weigh 207. I have never had long term success with losing weight. Last visit, I asked my PCP for advice. He gave me 2 tips. The first was MFP. I lost 7 pounds in the first couple of weeks. His second tip was to develop a picture of me at some point in the future, taking part in some activity that's important, and I want to be around and healthy for. I now have a picture in my mind of me posing with the big family at one of my grandkids' graduation from college. I'll be over 70 then, and would like to be fit enough to still play disc golf or ball golf, or play with younger family members without much limitation. That will take getting down to probably 180 pounds.

I really like the fact that when I exercise vigorously, I'm rewarded with higher calorie allowables. Those days are a lot of fun -- both the activity, and the eating more.

Give me a shout.

  • Ok. I liked the way people included their results after their post. So I changed my settings to show that.
