At Home Workouts--what do you do?

Hey guys! I have been at this for a while now. Started off a few years ago with just changing my diet and working out at home. Lost 60 pounds and hit a brick wall. Joined a gym and worked with a trainer. Lost about another 20 pounds over a year. I have another 15 or so that i want to lose. Anyways- some changes in my life have occured and I can no longer go to the gym. So i workout at home. I have a huge open basement so i can pretty much do anything. I have a heavy bag that i do rounds of boxing on, KBs and free wights. I still get bored though. I try switching up my music...and it will help sometimes and sometimes not so much.

Looking for some new workout ideas? So what do you do at home?

Thanks
Jill

Insanity! It will push you like nothing else - and it certainly isn't boring.

I do ZUMBA and walking tapes...I love Leslie Sansone (Walking off the pounds)....I also go to YOUTUBE and bring up tons of free fitness videos...I also workout with Resistance Bands twice a week (15min each session)....
I prefer to workout at home...I'm so done with the Gym scene:drinker:

I do ChaLEAN Extreme at home and love it. It's primarily weights (like you, I'm not trying to lose much more). I'm 5'10" and 159lbs.

If you have the weights to lift heavy, definitely check out Stronglifts 5x5, or NROLFW, or Starting Strength.

Currently I'm doing half hour to 45 minute Sworkit full body workouts, followed by 20 minutes or more of yoga (on Sworkit). It's a free app, and I'm finding it just challenging enough. It also links up to MFP, so it's a win win for me.

I get bored too, but I just set little goals for myself (want to do pull ups and splits, so I'm working towards those currently).

Well- I would love to try insanity but the big change was a divorce and he took the TV and DVD player. I do have a TV upstairs just not a dvd player yet. But once i get one, insanity is something i will look into!

I've got Hip Hop Abs, Walk Away the Pounds and a couple Biggest Loser workout DVDs. I also have printed versions of Spartacus and Spartacus 2.0 from Men's Health that are good if I just want to do a hard but quick workout. YouTube has a ton of exercise videos, both amateur and celebrity (Jillian, Body Combat, etc). If the weather's good, there's walking and running.

    ETA links

    Spartacus:

I like the idea of setting goals. I am very competitve, with myself. So, i could compete againt an old workout time...or something like that. Thanks!

I also spin on the recumbent stationary bike and use a row machine. I try to change it up as much as I can.

  • I'm a huggggeee fan of the Jillian micheals workouts...any of them are great! Plus keep an eye out at yard sales for cheap equipment....doesn't have to be fancy heck I bought an older elliptical for 25$ and an exercise bike for 15$ they work great they are just older models that aren't super fancy
