question about calorie intake

Hello everyone!
So at the beginning of this journey (November '13) my highest weight was 291.
I fell off the wagon for a while but am back on now and my current weight is 278.
MFP has me eating 1850 cal a day.
This seemed like a lot but I did some calculators online and it seems about right. Will I continue to lose like this?

I'm confused about this as well, according to MFP I should be eating 2100 calories a day but I'd be sick if I ate that much, my weight problem has always been due to laziness, not overeating so I'm not used to eating a lot. I've been eating around 1200 - 1400 calories a day and it's working so far.0
