Cross Fit Newbie

So I am fairly new to cross fit. I have been attending classes, learning proper technique and understand the basic moves and scaling options. As I get further into it, I begin to wonder if I should be doing workouts in addition to the WODs? Am I going to get better by just being consistent in the classes? I wanted to hear from others what helped them increase their PRs, do you do additional cardio, or other weight lifting?
Anybody have and advice/experience from starting at ground level and are now climbing those ropes and standing on their hands? I sometimes feel overwhelmed and get doubts that I will complete some of the advanced moves.

I go to CrossFit about 3-4 times a week. On a couple of the other days, I might run a bit or go on a hike for active recovery purposes. It just helps me stretch out a bit. That's really all I do. I like my rest days :laugh:0 -

Yup. I may run a bit but not much else. It would be good for me to work on my double unders at home as well, just to get the technique down, but that hasn't really been implemented yet.
Oh, also, you may want to join this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/99-crossfit-love Lots of good Crossfit info without people trying to talk you out of your choice of activity. Good luck!0 -
