Beginner Yoga

Anyone have a recommendation for a good beginner yoga DVD from someone completely out of shape with zero stability and flexibility? I used to do Pilates and loved it and the results. But I need to ease into a fitness routine so I want to do walking and Yoga for a while.

Not a DVD, but I've been loving this youtube channel:

I get most of my workouts off of YouTube. They have some great beginner workouts. I like my yoga to be more relaxing and helping with flexibility, and the beginner routines are great for that!

My favorite yoga dvd is Rodney Yee's AM Yoga for your Week. 5 different 20-25 minute sessions appropriate for beginners. I love Yee.

Youtube has tons of videos, and Doyogawithme.com has all sorts of free videos of all types of yoga variations. Travis Elliot has a yoga foundations DVD that I've heard is good. I've never done that one though, just his Ultimate Yogi dvd set.

Yoga Zone DVD's are great for beginners. The guy is really good at explaining the positions and how to go into them.

I've been using the Yoga Studio app and have really been enjoying it. It can download to your phone/iPad. It's great, as they have classes that range from beginner to advanced, 15 - 60mins, and they have classes for specific things (back pain, runners, etc). There's also the option of customizing your classes, so you'd choose all the moves you'd want to do. It also has this neat schdule feature that lets you schedule your classes in for the month and then you get reminders popping up (ie: Intermediate Yoga for Flexiility at 8pm Tues/Thurs), just as if it were a real class. It's been great!

I agree with youtube. Cindi Corbin is an instructor in Austin who posts a lot of great beginner yoga videos. Also, yoga.com has an app that's great-they have all different levels of training, although in order to see them all you have to join.
