So the newbie on MFP may be bewildered and wondering what all these weird acronyms mean? NSV, CW, GW, HW, OP, GIF.... the list goes on!
Can we break it down for them (preferably without GIFs please - lol)?

NSV = Non-scale victory. A way to measure progress or success through something other than the scale
CW = current weight
GW = goal weight
OP = Original poster or Original post. In this case that's you or the first post in a thread.
GIF = a picture format, usually animated, often funny
A lot of the MFP acronyms can be found in this topic, pinned at the top of the Getting Started forum: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1069278-acronyms-and-terms-for-new-mfp-members-v-61 -
