Why eat and regain the calories burned from exercise?

The calorie goal that MFP calculates for you already includes a deficit that would get you to the weight loss goal you put in. So if you want 1lb per week, your total includes a 500-calorie deficit even if you don't exercise at all.0

Most people don't eat them all back. Some do. Some eat none back. Others eat half.

Like the previous post said, your MFP calories are without exercise.
Say you're set to a loss of a pound a week at 1500 calories. That means your maintenance number on here is 2000 calories. If you burn 300 calories through exercise, that brings what you would need for maintenance up to 2300. You'd eat those extra 300 calories, bringing you to 1800 calories, but the net number after you take away what you burned will be 1500. Eating them back fuels your body for your next workout, though it's highly suggested to only eat half of them back because of overestimations.0
