Food Writer Trying to Limit Food

I've been lurking the forums for a couple weeks now but have finally decided to commit to a post or two. Naturally I posted in the breakfast thread before introducing myself, but food is always on my mind so that came first!

Though food writing isn't my day job (I do behavior therapy with kids with autism), I feel as though I'm constantly surrounded by food with every article I write or recipe I blog. I honestly feel like I think about food constantly, all day long. That said, I LOVE food and don't WANT to stop thinking about it! Food is amazing and there are so many talented chefs out there that I can't wait to experience. For now though, I just need to get a hold on my intake and get back on track with healthy eating.

Anyway, I did MFP before I got married last year and it worked well. I found it kept me accountable for what I was eating and required I actually measure out portion sizes, which is truly a game changer. I'm 32 and at 5'3" have about 60 pounds to lose. I have found that this summer wasn't kind to my waistline (where I tend to carry most extra weight) and when all my usual clothes started getting super tight and my body hurt to move after a long day of work, I knew I had to get back on track.

I try to eat as many whole foods as possible - always a work in progress though. I cook a lot and really believe in the whole farm-to-table movement. I live in the Midwest and am surrounded by farmers of all kinds, so it suits my lifestyle.

My strengths are that I love almost all fruits and vegetables and feel like I'm a fairly talented cook, plus have a supportive husband and love to dance at concerts for exercise.

My weaknesses are that I love craft beer, eating out, don't love to exercise beyond the aforementioned dancing, yoga and hiking, and have a crazy day job that sometimes leaves me too exhausted to eat anything beyond a bowl of cereal for dinner.

Feel free to add me! Would love new friends on this forum.

lucky for you, you dont have to exersize if you dont want to. or stop thinking about food. :) you can love food and eat what you want just track it and eat less of it. plan ahead for big meals, and so on.

you are at the right place and can make it work for you. :)
