Biggest Loser

I know this show has been a forum topic before. I was watching the season premier episode yesterday. This season's subject is former athletes who have let themselves go. At the end of the episode, during the weigh ins, I really found it disturbing to see how negatively everyone responded to the weight loss of some of the contestants. One woman 'only' lost 6 pounds, and one man 'only' lost 10 pounds, and both times all their team mates and their coaches were extremely disappointed and it was viewed so negatively. What a terrible example is it for our country that this show makes people think that the first week you attempt to lose weight you should lose 20 pounds or else you have failed? No wonder so many people give up. It's unfortunate that a show that could give people the incentive to lose weight and become healthy has become the opposite.
