Looking for Friends with Similar Stats [version 2.0]

Hello,
I'm really happy with MFP. But since I started I've been doing it solo.
I'm not really feelin' lonely here but more out of curiosity I thought I would try
becoming "friends" with some of you folks and see if it is a help.
Someone else posted this same subject "with similar stats" and she got
a lot of responses, so I thought I'd try it.
I'm about 5'8" and I'm not 100% positive what a good goal weight is,
so I looked at the BMI chart and the number right in the middle of
the green zone was 143 lbs, so I picked that as an initial target.
When I get within five or ten pounds of that weight I reserve the right
to adjust my goal a bit, depending on how it looks and feels.
Height 5' 8"
Goal: weight 143 lbs.
Current: weight 179 lbs.
Starting weight around 215lbs.
P.S. No I don't currently have a picture of myself, and yes I do sort of have reddish hair.

I am 5.8 tall.
My goal weight is 147 (I wouldn't mind 143, but I was always 147 and feel great at that weight and I can shop for nice clothes easily and I look good in a bikini too ))
I am currently 159 pounds.
My starting weight was 182.
Happy to be your friend.0 -
My starting (and current) weight is 180 so we're at about the same weight now, and our goal weights are almost the same (mine is 140). Feel free to add me! Oh, and I'm 5'10".0

Good. Um, so what do we do to "friend" each other. I'm not seeing the button and the "invite"
section looks like it is to "friend" people who are not currently on MFP.0 -
I'm 5'7"...I think I actually shrunk over the past few years! I used to be 5'8"....well...ok maybe I just claimed to be an extra inch taller just so I wasn't so fat. Anyways, I only wish I had your stats. I'm currently right around 300. Trying my best to get back to at least a somewhat normal weight. I was around 215 when I graduated HS and that's my first main goal. After that i'm going for an actual healthy weight! I've never FELT fat until just recently and now I just disgust myself. Good luck to you! Hopefully we can do this together!0

Just click on the person's user name or photo and click "add as friend" and it will send a request through. I just added you.0

Hold on.
... and now I just disgust myself....
Let's start out with "I'm obviously strong and motivated because I am here."
"I am who I am and I'm alright with that, though I'm going to do all I can
to be my best self." You get the picture. It is kind of like magic if you
say what you want and only say what you want usually you get it. Leaving
the jeers and insults to other people is a great way to start down the road of
being healthy. At least this is what I'm trying to do.

We have pretty similar goals it seems like!
I started at 218 and am aiming to be 150, also 5'8. Right now I'm 185.
I eat between 1300 and 1500 calories on a normal day, though some days I do get as low as 1200 and some days I do give myself treat days.
I'd love to be your friend (and anyone else on here with similar goals).0 -
I seem to fit in nicely with the size of this crowd. :-)
I'm 5'8 and currently somewhere around 75 kg (165-ish pounds) - I'm having my trainer put me on the scales tomorrow, so I'll know for sure then. And my goal weight is somewhere around 150 pounds. It could be less, but then I look too skinny (I'm quite heavily built, and in my case that's not an excuse, I don't look good if I weigh a lot less than that.)
So feel free to add me, any of you in here. I'd love the help and support. :-)0 -

We are spot on in the progress and goals department.
MFP's Basal Metabolic Rate calculator gave me the goal of 1500/day
if my hope is to drop 1 1/2 lbs. per week.
I've tried, and done pretty well. In four or five months I've gone
over the daily amount less than 10 times. In almost all of those
"going over" days I was with friends or eating out and I gave
myself permission to go over.
I haven't blown a day yet in a haze of pints of ice cream and self-pity, but
never say never I guess....I hope not.0 -
My weight began creeping up when I got married, and it seems every pound I have ever gained has stuck around.
I was so thrilled to find this thread for people in my size range, that I invited a bunch of you to be friends, I hope you don't mind.0 -
Stella77,
I'm curious both inskydiamonds and I are also 5'8", we all are shooting from around 147lbs,
but her daily calorie seems to be 1550, mine is 1500, and yours seems to be 1200 per day.
What am I missing here?0
