MFP calorie goal

I was just curious, as a person loses weight does MFP automatically adjust the calorie goal (if you are letting them set your calorie goal obviously)? For instance to lose 1.5lbs/week now it has my goal as 1420 but if/when I lose another 10lbs will it lower my goal or do I have to do something to change it? I know I've seen on sites like Scooby calculator to refigure your goal as you lose weight. Will MFP do this for me? Thanks!

It will adjust your calories based on your goals.
As Lis indicated you should go in and re-evaluate your goals about every 10lbs.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal
So with about 49lbs to lose you are close to probably readjusting to 1lb a week at which time you will see an increase in calories I suspect.0 -

Ok thank you...I actually didn't even think about that. I was thinking in terms of it changing my calories per day goal but I forgot I would also need to revise my overall goal of how many lbs per week based on current weight. Glad I asked! I apparently haven't lost enough for it to need to lower my daily cals yet lol. Appreciate the info!0 -
I could really use advice and I'm new to this community and how the website works. I filled out my fitness and food diary and apparently I'm actually eating like 500-700 calories less than I should be to be healthy. So if the tracker tells me I should be consuming 1450 calories a day including my fitness to be able to drop from 106 to 98 by October something, won't I gain weight if my body has been used to eating so little calories and carbs for so long? I am 5ft tall and about 106 lbs. The doctors tell me I should weigh between 98 and 105. I look best at around 98 because I'm so short. I probably only get about 20 carbs a day. I am hypoglycemic and I am tired of being on Atkins for 7 years. Its true it has helped me stay close to my target weight, but I am noticing that I don't feel that good anymore and I'd like to start eating some carbs once a day like "normal" people do and not pork out. Please give me some advice. When you get to be 44 and have had three kids, things just don't look the same and keeping your weight down is tough. Thank you!0
