is this a thing? (salt question)

does anyone find that if they drink a lot of water they crave salty foods more?

I normally crave salty things and my salt intake is insane I'm sure, but I just had the WORST craving for sauerkraut so I ate some (cooked up no less so the salt was even more concentrated!) and then after I ate it I *needed* more.

I drank a ton of water earlier (like all at once) and was wondering if that was where that came from. Is that a thing anyone else notices?

There is a potential for your electrolyte mix to get off due to too much water.

Might be happening to you. Not sure.

Yup, salt is actually necessary for hydration and if you drink heaps of water, you flush a lot of it out of your body and it needs replacing. While too much salt can be bad for you if you have certain conditions, it is also highly necessary to your body.
  • At large enough volumes water can throw off the balance of electrolytes in the body.
