Just tried out my new Breville Blend Active personal smoothie maker [bought as I'm trying to eat a ton more fruit and veggies every day] and it's fab!
Just stuffed in a bag [65g] of peppery baby leaf salad full of rocket, watercress, baby spinach leaves,
A medium celery stick,
100ml Passata [sieved toms]
One apple,
2 Kelp capsules [without the capsules themselves!]
Some water and a few ice cubes
110 cals total recipe
Yield 2 medium sized glasses
Roughly chopped the celery and apple and popped it in the blender with the salad and herb leaves, icecubes and a splash of water
Hit the button and whizzy little blades pulped everything into a relatively smooth smoothie....maybe more of a grainy than a smoothie but not bad considering the raw [and hard] ingredients I was asking it to blend.
The little gadget is brilliant and comes with 2 x 600 ml bottles and 2 caps with drinking flip tops so you can blitz and then take your smoothies on the run with you. You could whiz up one for brekky and one for lunch to take with you to the office
I had half the Green seaweed smoothie for brekky [Only 52 cals for a big glass] and am having the other half later this morning....needed a bit of seasoning and next time I make it I am going to chuck in some of my home-grown black volcano chillies for a big burst of heat.
Super easy to clean, just run the blade unit under the tap and wash and rinse the bottles in hot soapy water or chuck them in the dishwasher.
I am blitzing Honeydew melon and strawberries later which I reckon will give a far smoother result [may add a little soy milk if its a bit gloopy]
