I'm running my first half marathon in December and I need some help with my macros! I have no idea how I should be eating, or even what my calorie goal should be. I'm 26, 5'8", probably about 175 although I don't have access to a scale right now so I don't know a current weight. I am trying to lose about 30 pounds as well but I am willing to slow down my weight loss in order to train the right way for this run. I have tried eating at too much of a calorie deficit while training in the past and my workouts suffered. The half is my priority right now. I workout for what averages out to be about 8 hours a week, the majority of that being cardio. I have been lifting a few days a week, not to gain muscle but to maintain strength and prevent losing my lean muscle mass with all the cardio & calorie deficit. other than that I would say I am lightly active. Any long distance runners have some advice to throw to this newbie?
