How to decide how many calories are in taco meat?

I'm eating dinner with my boyfriend's parents tonight and they are making tacos. I know the kind of shells they're using, so I've already added that to my calories. However, the taco meat's calories are all over the place. Some say 85 calories in 1/4 and others say up to 320 for 1/4 cup! So how am I supposed to know how many calories I will be consuming!?
Since they're fixing the food before I get there, not only will I not know exactly how they prepare it, I wouldn't ask any way. It'd be a little weird since they don't think I need to lose weight anyway.
I know they're using 85/15 ground beef and your standard taco seasoning. So how do I determine the calories in this?

Use the 85% ground beef cooked entry and add 10 calories for the spices or something. 1/4 cup is probably about 2 ounces... you shouldn't use volumes for solids anyway, but I'm guessing you won't exactly be able to get a food scale out anyway.0
