I am awear this is probably a commonly asked question to feel free to read, sigh and ignore lol
But I would like some advice if anyone feels like repeating themselves for me :flowerforyou:
So, I to the gym : on Sundays 7pm, Tuesdays 6pm, wednesdays 7.30pm and fridays 9.30am
On Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays I am doing C25K (Im on week 2)
then after doing that i usually do about 45 mins on the bike (the one thats like a slightly reclined seat so you are pedaling forward, i did post about names of the bikes and have forgtten which it is now lol)
On wednesday an I start on the bike then go on to tread mil and do a mix of brisk walking and walking on an incline.
so thats where im at with that.
I got some dumbells to do at home but tbh have only done them about 3 times.
so here is where I need your help. I know i should get in to lifting as well as working on my cardio. BUT dont really know when i should be doing it. How often should I be doing it?
should i be doing it after Iv done my running on sundays, tuesday and fridays? or should i be doing it on different days to doing cardio?
Im also a complete chicken and would rather do it at home than at they hence i brought some weights,
Any advice on when and how often would be great
xx

if you're strength training (working in the 1-5 rep range) then you should do cardio before but not too much to keep energy for the strength portion.
if you are simply weight training (working in the 8+ rep range) then it's probably not going to matter0 -
The standard beginner's plan is to do full-body weights every 2-3 days. You can do some cardio afterward (or a different time of day), and do a longer cardio on your non-weights day.
If your dumbbells are under 10 pounds / 5 kilograms, or they are pink, return them. Follow a good strength program, like NROL or Stronglifts. You'll get a better workout at a gym, so stand tall and do it. It will be no big deal after a while. Read the 3rd sticky post in this forum, "I am the woman in the freeweights section of the gym" (part 1).0 -
I would do weights before cardio or do them on the days you are not doing cardio.
It's really important to lift as heavy as you can handle with good form. If you can do more than 8 reps per exercise easily, the weights are too light for you. I'm not sure if you can do weight training with 100 percent effort after 45 minutes of cardio. Maybe if you did 20 minute light cardio just to warm up, you could do the weights.0 -
google nrolfw :-) that's how I started0

Thanks for the all advice, will get googling and reading sticky post once sorted kids out for school etc and have 5mins to my self (not an easy thing to find)
Husband says my form etc is good (he used to be a bodybuilder and is just getting back in to lifting him self but i cant take instruction from he, its just ends up me getting irritated with him, which is why i asked here lol.0
