an indulgence - chocolate covered frozen dark cherries

yep, it's on the menu tonight, and I'm still at bottom of my daily calorie plan!
very satisfying 150 calorie treat for a job well done this week!

RECIPE:
1/2 cup frozen organic dark cherries (unsweetened)
1/16 cup (2oz, or 2 TBSP) dark chocolate couverture
fondue fork

MELT chocolate pieces in glass container in microwave for 30 seconds then stir, then melt another 30 seconds, stir. Best to melt in small increments so you don't burn your expensive high quality dark chocolate. See note below on buying chocolate.

SLIGHTLY THAW the frozen dark cherries by heating in microwave for 30 seconds. use a small glass bowl.

DIP one cherry at a time into the melted chocolate and enjoy!

Buying chocolate: easily available good quality dark chocolate can be found in any grocery baking section (Bakers chocolate, Ghirardelli's dark chocolate). Other great product will be the pricier dark chocolate bars found in gourmet food stores refrigerated sections. Dark chocolate is the best and is also low sugar calorie content, while milk chocolate is nearly 65% sugar (aka: too much). And we're not talking about the chocolate chips used in cookies as those are all high sugar and lots of fake ingredients.
