Yes if you eat less junk food you will be able to lose weight as long as you stay within your calories, but if you are starting off this journey by asking what is the least I can do to lose weight this thing is going to get very hard very fast. Why not try cutting out most of the junk and just have one junk food a day, think of it as what is the best way to do this. And no you dont have to eat fish or salads, fish is great but honestly chicken and turkey are less fattening and salads are ALOT less healthy then they seem.

There are definitely ways to incorporate "junk" food into your diet. Overall, you should be aiming to get adequate nutrients from foods probably 80% of the time. But if you look at my diary, I still Incorporate sweets and other delicious foods.

    Maybe.

If by eating less you create a situation where you're eating less overall calories than you're burning, then yes. If not, then no.

Example: You burn on average 2000 calories a day. You currently eat 2500 calories a day, ergo you gain weight. If you cut out 300 calories of "junk" food, so you're now eating 2200 calories a day, you're still going to gain weight (albeit at a slightly slower pace).

If you cut out 600 calories of "junk" (or any food really), so you're now consuming only 1900 calories a day, you'll lose weight.

Weight loss is simple. Eat less calories than you burn over time = weight loss. Now that said. healthy is not synonymous with skinny. also eating low calorie high protein or high fiber foods can be quite filling, while easting chips is not filling. So "junk" food may be harder to eat within your calorie budget without feeling hungry. Also certain foods and activities may boost your metabolism. These things will boost your burn rate improving your weight loss and or allowing to eat more.

All that said if your looking for approval, then yes.

But a better way is try over time to improve what you eat and actually I started to enjoy healthy foods and grew intolerant of many junk foods. I crave my green smoothies now and really enjoy an apple or an orange as a sweet treat food. Not at first, but after a few weeks it really works. I still have occasional pretzel or cracker as I still can't past the desire for something salty and crunchy.

Moderation is the key. If you cut too many things you will not stick to it. So if you really love a certain "junk" food, still eat some of it. Try to make some healthy choices too.
