How do ya'll get past that time of month? I feel so irritable that sometimes I want to binge, but then there are times when I don't eat enough because I'm so irritable. Oh and getting to the gym is also a challenge.

Help!

By the far the hardest time! I feel the same way - but if you work your brains out you'll feel better - it's a struggle, but gotta do it!

I do allow myself SOMETHING during that time - be it non-food - like a nap, or a pedicure....

I like the idea of something a little special for yourself. If you can make yourself feel a little prettier on the outside (new workout outfit, pedicure, manicure) then you might feel better on the inside. Workouts are hard, but I always feel so much better after I do a really vigorous workout where I'm sweating. They say it helps relieve some of the bloating and the excess water on the brain that causes those annoying headaches. Hang in there!!! Hopefully it's only for a couple days. You're not alone. We all feel or have felt your pain.

I'm trying to get through it right now. Lord. I'll be havin' issues for the next week and a half, thanks to all of the female hormones I work around

The best you can do is power through it. Tell yourself to go to the gym for at least 10 minutes or take a walk around the park or neighborhood. Any activity is better than none, even if you're seriously hurtin'.

The best thing I have found for the pain, though not to be mentioned on a fitness site....usually....is a piece of dark chocolate and a glass of wine. Releases endorphines. Makes everything feel better

    Best of luck, darlin'!

This is where renting your favorite funny video, laughing out loud, and power walking to your favorite peppy uplifing tunes on your IPOD come in handy. No sappy love songs now!!

I eat dark chocolate at that time too ... its better for you, so I have less guilt...I also eat more peanut butter...the protein helps me feel better on crampy days for some reason, and the sweetness makes me think I'm eating something bad. Then I take some midol and try to get on with my day....but its the irritability that's the worst. If someone could just make that go away, I'd kiss them!

It's the calcium in the food that helps with the cramps I read.....so eat your cheeses and dirnk your milks....but i think that little indulgneces help the psychie.

A little off topic maybe....but does it confuse anyone else that Midol has caffiene, a load of it, even though all doctors/women/cramp sufferers warn against caffiene during the time?
