Just looking at beer makes me gain weight, but it's only temporary for me. Try for a better day tomorrow. Most of it is probably retention and you'll balance out in a day or two. Could be the new scale is off from the old one. Good luck!0

I just looked at your diary and you are definitely not eating enough, especially for a guy! Your body is probably in starvation mode and clinging to every last thing it can! Jack up your cals and try not to leave more than 500 cals max. That's my 2 cents
Good luck!0 -
If the only difference is a different scale, I bet that is where the "gain" is.
Use the "gain" as added reason to get an extra exercise session in, and wait until your next weigh in.
I'm sure all is well, and the scale was the culprit.0 -
Chin up - it happens to all of us. Your weight can fluctuate based on how much water you are retaining, and you have no control over it, we're just hard wired that way. Keep doing what you are doing, its how you got to where you are. I get upset sometimes myself over the short term spikes, but don't let it throw you off track. SSG.0

Sounds like it could be that the new scale may weigh slightly different than the old one. If you have some weights at home, put them on the scale and see how accurate it is. The old one may have been wearing out and not giving an accurate weight. Other than that, it could be excess sodium attracting water weight or maybe you haven't had a bowel movement in a couple days? Keep tracking your calories and exercising regularly and the weight will go down.0

I am pretty sure that the difference is between scales too. Each scale measures a little differently. I'd look at it as a maintained week and keep going!0

Hi there, I just looked at your diary and you really need to eat more. You need to eat your daily allowance at least and if you are active (which it seems like) you should eat some of those calories too. That should help.
Take care

My guess...the new scale!!!!0

I also agree with Tarapin's assessment of you intake; you need to eat a more.0

I agree. You're not getting nearly enough calories. Try bumping them up a bit and see what happens.0 -
I agree with tarapin -- you are not eating enough. When I tried to go down to 1200 a day (and I'm a 5'4" woman!), I completely stopped losing, and after about a week, I started to put weight on.
The scale is very likely to be a problem as well. Bummer, but there ya go.
Up your calories a bit and you'll take it off in a week or two, I'll bet!0 -
Actually, good call on the intake issue. You need to net at least about 1200 calories a day in order to avoid starvation mode. If you don't eat enough, your body actually slows your metabolism down thinking that food is scarce. Another hard wired thing.0

I also agree with upping the calories. A while back I wasn't eating enough and gained 3 lbs. I got discouraged, but listened to my great friends on here, ate more and didn't weigh for 2 weeks. Amazingly, after eating more I LOST 8 lbs. Good luck!0
