How does 1,200 ideal intake with a daily diary of 1,800 intake and 687Calories of exercise making a defecit of -31 end in a 5 week projection of only 5lbs lose? As a male 42, 11 st my standard recognised healthy intake is around 1,800 C with nearly 700calorie burn that makes 1,100 which a huge deficit but only 5lbs over 5 weeks ? Am I missing something. Not too bothered as will carry on working but just theoretically interested

Cheers

is that MFP? it is set to a max of 2lb a week for everyone. it also doesn't allow you to go under 1000 cals. ignore it and carry on

Typically 1800 total calories in a day is the lowest a male should eat, if your losing about 5lbs in 5 weeks that one pound a week which is actually a great rate to lose at

Unless you're weighing and measuring everything, then you're eating more than you think, therefore the deficit is less than you think. Additionally, how are you coming up with the calories burned? MFP tends to overestimate.

Agree 5lbs over 5 weeks is nice, havnt seen any loss over last three though. measure burn with garmin connect Hrm.

I think it will happen, just body slightly changing before the tyre starts to fade. Thanks for comments.

I agree, you are eating more than you think if you haven't seen a loss in 3 weeks!
Make sure you buy a food scale and weigh all your solid food. Measure all your liquids that have calories.
You will see a loss once you're actually in a deficit.
