Hey guys,
I've really been struggling for a couple of months now. I had lost 17 pounds and was looking good and feeling good. I was motivated and excited. Then we got some news about our son and since then I have been a mess and have gained half the weight back. I am getting back into exercising and I can tell I am slimming up again although the scale isn't changing. I am really having a problm with eating. I discovered that I am an emotional eater. I eat when I am stressed and I didn't know that I did that until a couple of months ago. Well, I am not as emotional but apparently I got back into bad habits during this rough time and now I am having a hard time breaking it. I'm going to go on a "strict" diet to jump start things. I don't mean to alarm anyone. It's not that strict, just strict for me. Meats, fruits, veggies, and water. I will probably have rice and popcorn, and nuts. I think I need to cut out wheat (I think I am allergic anyways) and the sweets, whether low in cals or not. I have no control when they are around! I have got to get some self control again! So maybe you guys could give me some tips or something.
I have to go work out so I can have calories for dinner. I ate them at lunch and I didn't even have that much to eat! Just poor choices! Thanks everyone!

Hey girl!! Good to hear from you again :flowerforyou: You know, even though you "fell off the wagon" so to speak, you learned something. Nothing is ever wasted when we learn from it! How is your son doing?
Yeah, that emotional eating is tough to overcome. But knowing about it is a big part of the battle. Maybe journal when you feel like eating but aren't hungry. Or post on here - we'll help you!! Or talk to a friend. Maybe grab a cup of hot tea or Iced tea and sit somewhere quiet for a few minutes to gather yourself and thoughts back up. That's all I got!! Glad you're back around - take care of yourself will ya'?? (((hugs)))0 -
Getting back on track isn't easy, but you can do it!!! You're probably right to cut out some of the foods that you can't control yourself around at least until you get back into a rythym! Just focus on the nice sunny weather and the sweet fresh fruits that are available this time of year! Once you start focusing again this will all become second nature! You can do it!!! :flowerforyou:0

My son is doing pretty good. We have our good days and bad days. He is getting therapy starting in June and they will diagnose him then as to whether he has autism or not. He does really well when he has had wheat or milk. Sometimes it accidentally gets slipped in there and he's a bear for a few days! I know I have wheat issues and I am lactose intolerant so I really should do this diet myself. I have been reading about food allergies for awhile and they say you crave what you are allergic to. Makes sense as far as my son and I go. I also know by doing it I will drop a few pounds!
Thanks Montanagirl for asking about my son! It's so nice to know people care! :happy:0 -
Those food allergies are a real b*tch. I don't understand how your body can crave something it has a bad reaction to . . . but it does!!! Keep on - I understand it takes some experimentation to get it just right! Maybe look at some websites for celiac disease - they probably have lots and lots of hints on avoiding wheat and wheat products. Hang in there girl!! :flowerforyou:0
