Anyone flavour unflavoured protein powder ?

Just wondering does anyone here make up their own protein powder flavours ?
I just bought a small sack of unflavoured protein powder, with the intention of adding my own flavourings, and keen to hear of anyone has any favourite combination(s).
This morning I added 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder and 1/2 a teaspoon of instant coffee to scoop of protein powder, to make a capuccino-style flavour. Next I think I shall try a simple chocolate flavour, and most likely add 2 tsp cocoa powder and 1/2 tsp of powdered sugar to a scoop of protein powder to try out a chocolate flavour.
Anyone have any thoughts/ flavours of their own ?

I use the mlo vegetable protein, which is unflavored. I put a scoop in my unsweetened plain soymilk, blend and add sugar-free hazelnut or cinnamon syrup and coffee--for a "protein latte". It's also good blended with some chocolate pb2 and soymilk, add blending in a banana=yum!! 1/2 soy milk 1/2 OJ and a scoop of powder tastes like a dreamsicle. I don't really flavor the powder itself, but make different flavors of drinks, if that's what you mean.0

Sometime I buy unflavoured sometimes I dont. But if I do I usually use 1tbsp pb2 and 1tbsp cocoa powder per scoop of protein powder, tastes great.0

@Chrisparadise, yes, I thought of that combo, and imagine it works and tastes very well PB2 is not so common this side of the pond though, and seems a bit on the pricey side from what I've seen0 -

I like unflavored but add sugar free flavourings, coffee etc depending on my mood! I don't mind unflavoured though as I get more protein per unit (and per £ too)!0

Yes, must try it unflavoured. I admit not too much of a protein powder junkie, but did feel the need to have something to bump up the protein content of the odd shake I treat as a meal replacement.
Its certainly good value unflavoured, although I must say a large part of the appeal in getting an unflavoured variety was the lack of sweeteners/ unwanted extras that come with the flavourings added by the manufacturers. I will admit though, an equally large part of the appeal was to my culinary side which shall enjoy creating and adding flavours I whisk up myself0 -
Old thread at this point, but just thought I'd come back to mention I found a tablespoon of cocoa powder and a teaspoon of icing sugar to be a good way to chocolate-flavour plain protein powder. That's per 30g scoop0

I definitely prefer adding cocoa powder to unflavored protein powder as opposed to buying chocolate flavored protein powder. The pre-flavored ones sometimes taste weird and leave a funky after taste.0

One I bought was unflavoured whey from bulkpowders. Not a big fan of artificial sweeteners and additives, thus went the unflavoured route. Cheaper too

no i haven't actually. At one point i was making my own post workout blend and was considering getting an unflavored protien and putting some koolaid mix in it. I was dumping tons of sugar in anyway0

I kind of do this as well, I use a vanilla protein base, and add flavors from there. I usually go with frozen fruit, but today I added a scoop of instant coffee and a serving of pumpkin puree to make a fake PSL protein shake (yep, I'm so basic.)0

I have been using unflavoured hemp and using it in my Nutribullet to create my own flavours. Much better and all natural ingredients #gainz0

24g of protein & 124 calories per 30g scoop, if I recall correctly. The site was bulkpowders.ie if you want to check it out. It does seem to be a European cluster of sites though. I bought 1kg as a tester, and seem to recall it being about €16, with €5 of shipping on top. I also seem to remember much better value on the larger sizes (2.5/ 4/ 5kg, etc).

I like hemp, and other natural ingredients, but there's a big calorie hit involved in trying to get a decent amount of protein from such ingredients. Before I opted to go the protein powder route, I had tried to use cottage cheese, but it seemed much of a muchness price-wise (cottage cheese vs protein powder), and also the cottage cheese available locally all seemed to have an amount of salt added that quickly added up when using half the container or more (which you would have needed to do, to get the desired amount of protein).

I love adding blueberries, strawberries and banana to my protein shakes. Try throwing in the blender the following: one scoop protein powder; a couple teaspoons of dark chocolate syrup (or other chocolate flavoring of choice); half cup of milk; one cup of blueberries/strawberries/whichever berries (frozen - I buy fresh if I can and freeze); half a banana; one tablespoon of peanut butter. Water if you need to thin or ice if you want thicker.

I use bio chem and use stevia to sweeten it then usually adding different fruits. Mango and strawberry, blueberries and blackberries....I don't do well with dairy so I always use water. I'm thinking I might try the cocoa and coffee though....sounds delish! I did buy a small container of Jay Robb protein powder in chocolate the other day to kinda treat myself....it's sweetened with stevia and a lot of the same no this no that as the bio chem but omgoodness it was gross. After using barely any sweetener for a couple months and then using one with too much I couldn't even finish the smoothie. Oh well...I look forward to trying some of these recipes.0
