Jawbone, MapMyRun, and MFP

Hey all,
Quick question for anyone who may know. I use MFP to log all my food, and I have a Jawbone UP that is connected to MFP and tracks my daily calorie burn. In addition, I use MapMyRun to track my running, and all three apps are connected to one another.
Now the question. Today, for example, I went on a run and burned 589 calories, according to MapMyRun. This shows up in my MFP exercise log, as does my normal daily UP adjustment. However, my MFP "expected calories" for today have gone up by 589 as well, and there's a note saying why. This all seems to make sense, as if it didn't do this, I'd be getting double credit for calories - one from UP, and the other from MapMyRun. However, I'm still confused. I burned nearly 600 calories running, but since those 600 calories got added back into my expected daily burn, I still have the exact same caloric budget that I had before I ran!
What's the solution here? Should I be deleting my MapMyRun workout from MFP every day and just letting the UP count the run toward my steps? Should I not be wearing my Jawbone while I run? Something else? Thanks!

Bump. I just got a Jawbone UP and am using all 3 apps. I went for a bike ride this morning using MMR and used the stopwatch on the UP to log it. Now I'm afraid it's double counting my workout. Anyone have any tips or explanation for what's happening?
My UP so far says:
1,131 total burn
678 active burn
453 resting burn
MFP says:
1,230 initial calories
183 biking calories from MMR
124 UP adjustment
So MFP total to eat = 1,537.
I need to lose 1-1.5lb a week and am trying to use these tools instead of TDEE but am not sure what amount to eat. Any tips? Please?0 -
I was having this problem with my FitBit, Runkeeper, and MFP. I'm a runner and anytime I used Runkeeper, it would make my calories/steps all weird.
Here's what I did and it is working awesome for my weight loss.
I disconnected my FitBit from MFP altogether. MFP is now linked only to Runkeeper - as that's where I'm actually logging my walking/running. When I have another exercise, such as Yoga, I put it directly into MFP - not Runkeeper and not my FitBit.
Why does this work for me?
Well, first off, I WAS eating all the calories back due to the adjustments in MFP caused by the other 2 apps. Now I stick to my 1,200 calories a day - regardless of that awesome green exercise number coming from Runkeeper. I use my FitBit soley to ensure that I'm getting my 10,000 steps a day and it's great for competing with my friends.
Again, this is what worked for me (cause I kept gaining weight - over my starting weight on MFP). Sure, i'd love to have them all synch correctly but they don't.
Hope this helps!
Irish smiles,
Shannon
