Anybody else listen to Jonny Bowden's Free Weight Loss Webin

Okay, kids. This is VERY different from the usual calories-in/calories-out kind of nutritional advice. Did anybody else happen to listen to the (approximately) 45-minute Jonny Bowden free webinar the other day?
It's up online under: http://www.jonnybowden.com/replay/ (you have to copy & paste into your browser).
I have been reading a lot of his books lately, including 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth and Healthiest Meals On Earth, and I finished the entire webinar yesterday. Here are the basics (and this is not your mother's nutrition, trust me!):
1 -- eat all the fat you want, including healthy fats, but NOT including trans fats (i.e., processed food);
2 -- eat all the green vegetables you want, and add in any non-starchy vegetables to go with it;
3 -- limit carbs, *including* complex carbs; really, the only carbs other than fruits & veggies he recommends are quinoa and oatmeal;
4 -- work out for health reasons, but NOT for weight loss;
5 -- your body processes calories from fat and protein dramatically differently than it does from carbohydrates and sugar; basically, by the time a piece of white bread, plate of pasta, or rice hits your stomach, it's converted into sugar.
I've been thinking a lot about what he says recently, and I'm beginning to think it really makes sense. He stresses that insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetes) are the reason we are overweight and overfat, especially in the belly area. I don't know where he stands on fruit consumption, but I'm working my way through the 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth, and I'll get back to you after I read that section.
This is totally blowing my mind, because it's NOT what we've been taught.
Thoughts?
