Okay.... this question is for those of you who have lost A LOT of weight. I'm 5'4" and I have to lose ME! My SW is 301 and my goal is 145, which is the max healthy range for my height.

My husband has some cousins that had the stomach bypass surgery done and it has really "aged" them. Lots of wrinkles and tons of flab. We've also seen the contestants on TBL. So, for those of you who have lost around 100+ lbs, have you avoided huge amounts of flab and loose skin? Any "tricks" that you'd like to share? My husband and I both have over 100 lbs each to lose, so we're curious.

I could use some tips myself. I think I've mitigated the damage by doing strength training, so muscles are starting to fill out those old flabby areas. I still have a rather over-sized pannus though and I don't know if anything other than surgery will take care of that. My plan is to keep up the intense exercise for the next year and re-evaluate then

I have avoided hanging skin, but I've lost the weight very slowly over the last 3 years. I have a total of 100 lbs to lose and am down to the last 14 lbs. There are many different factors that affect how your skin will react to losing weight and there are no guarantees, only things that can possibly help.

some of the biggest factors that affect it:
    -age (younger, the better)
    -genetics
    -rate of weight loss
    -hydration (very important, drink water)
    -proper nutrition
-build muscle as you lose fat
-exfolitate skin daily (I make a cheap scrub with honey and brown sugar, so you can be generous with it).

Feel free to add me or msg me if you have any questions. :)

Slow and steady wins the race baby!! I've got hardly any loose skin. There's a little at the base of my tummy but that seems to be firming up. I just lost slowly, drink lots of water and stay moisturized. One of the biggest things in my opinion is STRENGTH TRAINING. Building muscle doesn't firm skin but it firms YOU if you want to avoid the FLAB... just my 2 cents. Good Luck mamma you got this. Feel free to add me. :flowerforyou:

Keep your weight loss slow and continue to work out and build muscle. I made a decision to lose weight very gradually - aiming for approximately 100 lbs over 3 to 4 years. I am about 2/3 there after about 18 months and it seems to be working for me. Rapid, dramatic weight loss may be necessary for medical reasons but for many people slow and steady wins the race.
