Calf Gets bigger ??

This morning its been a month since i last measured my self.
In my waste, hips, muffin top and thigh, i am down .5 of a inch. But i measure my calf and it is .4 bigger
I guess it could be muscle gain from walking at least 1-2 miles a day on the treadmill ??
I am also thinking what if i didn't measure my calf at the thickest point last time. Maybe that could be the issue.

I would assume if you did gain it is probably water being stored in your muscle making it appear that way.
My initial inclination is that you measured a different spot or put a different amount of pressure on the tape measure. It can be very difficult to measure the same place every-time.0 -
Yup, what erickirb said. Legs can be tricky because they taper. If you measure at a slightly higher spot than last time on either the calf or thigh, you're going to get a slightly higher measurement.
It's pretty near impossible to gain muscle on a calorie deficit, escpecially for women.0 -
^completely agree with erickirb and MinnieinMaine.
I'm throwing my hat into NOT muscle gain. You don't gain muscle by accident and it certainly isn't ideal in a deficit, especially with cardio.
The only plausible way you could get a tiny bit of muscle would be starting up weightlifting with a good amount of protein and that window is tiny and would not be .4 inches of muscle gain.
Just take the measurement you got this time and remember to try and measure in the same place. Remember that water is held in areas you work for repair. It's common to bloat in those areas. Just keep swimming.0 -

Losing fat from those areas make the muscles appear more defined. It's an awesome phenomenon but does not equate to muscle gain. My biceps looked bigger/felt like more muscle, when I hit the end of my weight loss. I had been strength training the whole time but it was from revealing the muscle from losing fat.0 -
Like the others said, you probably just measured at a different point. Have you got some freckles you can use for a guide  this is what I do.
If you have gained it, I'm jealous - it has taken me a year and a half (+ one bulk cycle) to add 0.25" to my hideously skinny calves.0 -

I totally get what you're saying.
I have a few pairs of pants that I have had since before starting to lose weight. They are dress capris, and were snug in the waist while being fine through the legs.
Now they are (finally!!) getting too loose in the waist, but consistently hug my calves very very tightly.
I don't get it, but I figure if my pants are getting smaller in the waist and the scale is showing me the numbers I want to see, my calves are not all that important yet.0 -
