Edema

Since I started running about three and half years ago, I have been battling edema in my ankles and feet, but almost exclusively in right ankle and foot. Shortly after it began flaring up, I went to the doctor about it and he did the whole protocol of tests....blood work, ultrasound, dye test, checking for bad circulation, infection, clots, kidney issues, etc. Everything came back normal and my doctor told he had no explanation for it and perhaps it would resolve itself, which it has never done.

Usually running seems to help during the run itself (I have to stop a couple of times during longer runs to tighten my laces because the swelling goes down), but within a few hours it comes back. It is not there 24/7, but more often than not. I have more or less grown accustomed to it, but there are times when it is uncomfortable and annoying. I have tried icing it, wrapping it and/or elevating it with mixed results.

What I am looking for here is maybe some anecdotal or home remedies that can bring some relief. My doctor keeps reassuring me that nothing serious is going on so I have been sort of left to my own devices to find relief...
