Roller-coaster of menses

I am going from starving one day and eating a bit over calorie, to the next day being nauseous and weak, and really not wanting to eat anything. I want to exercise, but the thought makes me feel even weaker. Going from cycling and walking at least every other day to up to 6 days without anything is about the most frustrating thing ever! I keep thinking I am about to put on 5lbs in actual weight, not just bloat.

Anyone else have issues with menses breaking up a good eating and fitness routine? And, do you have any little tricks that help you get through your cycle?

Oh, mine gets horrible. But as soon as I see the scale go up 3 lbs overnight, I start chugging water and I MAKE myself work out. Because even though I feel like death itself, I always feel better once I've exercised. The back pain becomes less of an issue, the cramps actually generally go away completely, and I have more energy and less cravings.

But that being said, I also very carefully make room in my calories for a treat every single day. I find the cravings aren't as bad if I know I'm going to have a brownie before bed... as long as I exercise. And that's the trick - I only give myself the treat if I got my workout in, and the rest of my meals are healthy. If you get cravings before that, try brushing your teeth. It's remarkably good at getting rid of them. :)

I'm a mess when it comes to menses. I like the Doctah's advice, and I'll have to try it next month. I usually just try to salvage after the fact. It's not working though so I need a new plan.
