No exercise helps get rid of fat. Decreasing overall body fat is the only way. If you have a low body fat % or low weight and you are still flabby, the it's probably an issue of body composition (low muscle mass).

As psulemon says - you just need to keep decreasing body fat in general. Unfortunately, genetics dictates where it comes from first. Be patient!

I agree with the previous poster. Check out ketogenic way of eating, just google it. It's a way of flipping a switch in your body to use fat as fuel. It can be daunting at first since it low carb, moderate protein and high fat. There is lots of information about it so just read up on it and see if it would fit your lifestyle. I have been following it for 3 months now and lost 15lbs, inches on my waist, hips, arms, and my energy is way up. I would also suggest looking into weight training. As the previous poster said your muscle mass could be low so if you increase it, you will tone up. I am looking forward to being able to weight train. I waited to let my body get accustomed to my new way of eating and then work in lifting weights. Hope this helps!!!

There is nothing special about ketogenic in terms of fat burning. What its great for is satiety, decrease glycogen storage (big water weight initially) and the protein will help muscle retention. If the OP prefers low carb, it's definitely a viable WOE but in comparison to a moderate approach (ensuring adequate protein intake) and holding calories stable, it will provide the same level of fat loss.

Yep, gotta lose the fat! If you strength train while you're at it you'll keep your muscle and look a lot better.

I carry my weight exactly the same. I have found lots of cardio, like running and swimming, combined with strength training, light weights, and core exercises, like planks, to be the absolute best in fighting weight around the waist, arms, and back. I don't do ketogenic because that is not a lifestyle I could stick with. I like my carbs. But I do watch to make sure while dieting, and while maintaining, I stick to a balanced diet. Good luck! Oh, also, fitnessblender.com has great strength training and core routines.

Wherever you have a tendency to put weight on first, is where you will lose it from last.
