exercise adjustment

i am currently using jawbone 24 up and myfitnesspal. does anyone else find that regardless of the exercise they do - and by the way i have to keep my bluetooth off or not open up the app until towards the end of the day /after my exercise, otherwise it doesnt sync properly!! - that it always stays at -100 ? I mean if I burn something crazy like 500 calories then i've seen it move once or twice but usually regardless of the exercise I do, my exercise always stays at 100 and it takes off 100 calories to eat for the day.

I would understand this, having read the MFP faqs, except jawbone doesn't include my -500 calories for my weight loss...
