Under Eating

Hello,
I am a first year University student living in residence, and I'm determined to beat the freshman 15 and stay in shape for my varsity team. I have recently been getting back into recording what I eat in addition to my fitness program. For the last few days I have clicked the complete entry and it wont allow me because I have not consumed enough calories. It's not like in starving myself, I eat when I'm hungry, I just have not been hungry. I did not have this problem in the summer, I ate all the time, and the food here is really good.
How can i make sure I am eating enough?

Well log as you all day. You can clearly see when it comes to dinner time that you need to eat "x" amount of calories to reach I assume 1200 (since MFP is telling you you're not eating enough). Anyway, am I right? If I am, 1200 is for people who really need to lose weight. You're just training to "beat the freshman 15" so wouldn't you want to eat a maintenance or a little less?0

Well the obvious answer is going to be "eat more". If you're under a certain amount of calories it will give you that message because it's not sustainable. You risk more harm than good by undereating. I've seen people recommend eating things like nuts and peanut butter to help add calories easily. If you're exercising a lot for a sport then you likely need to be eating even more to keep your body going, and you'd need more anyhow just because you're young.0

Hunger signals are not always accurate. The more you ignore them, the less frequent you'll feel hunger pangs. I can't see your diary so I can't give you any specific advice. Make sure you have your calorie goal set up properly. This should help: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1235566-so-you-re-new-here0

You should discuss this with your coach, for sure. The college will almost always have a nutritionist available for the students to see. You can try that, too. But see the coach first.
I've had some pretty low days and MFP never stopped me from completing and entry. It yells at me sometimes (if I'm under, but not if I'm over, lol), but it never doesn't let me complete it.
There's no real reason to complete it, though, is there??0
