Now what

How do you go about the tapering down? Or is it up? Confusing to me

Do you mean when you reach your goal weight? What I've done is, each week, I increase my daily calories by 100. By next week, I'll be up to maintenance calories.

By tapering down/up, do you mean starting to maintain rather than lose?

I looked at your profile and we're just about the same height and weight. I'm 4'11" and currently 107. I'm 39 yo.

My ultimate goal weight is 105 so I've set my calories at around 1400, which allows me to lose slowly. In the past, I maintained at around 1600 so you see the calorie difference isn't all that drastic. I don't have a regular exercise routine, but I'm not completely sedentary.

If you don't want to lose any more weight, I'd add about 50 calories to your daily goal and keep that up for a week or two. If you're still losing, bump it up another 50 until you find yourself maintaining.

As shorter/smaller people, just a few hundred calories can make quite the difference depending on activity level. I was probably only over eating by 200-300 calories, at most, per day when I gained weight.

    I hope that helps.
