Ingredients:

rice
1 can of green beans(drained)
1 dash of salt

Directions:

cook rice until almost done, adding in salt before it starts to boil. then when it's close to done, drain liquid from canned green beans, and add the green beans. then stir in real good and wait. to make sure the rice is done, taste. to make sure the green beans are hot, taste. then when they're done, drain excess liquid and serve.

Why not just cook the rice and green beans separately? Stirring green beans "real good" into rice that hasn't quite finished cooking is going to give you gummy rice, not nice fluffy rice.

What makes this worth labeling as vegan? It's just rice and canned green beans. I suppose technically it's vegan.

Does all of your meal preparation involve adding a can of green beans or peas and a pile of salt to already mostly cooked stuff?

At least I am having some sort of vegetable with it. That's what counts.
