    Tara that's awesome! I was so excited the first time I ever did a whole 5K without walking. Mine was on the treadmill too. I have done it 3 more times since but still have not done it outdoors. I am sure if I keep training longer distances on the treadmill, then once the snow disappears and it warms up, I should be able to do it outside. My goal for 2011 is to enter a real 5K this summer or fall and not walk at all. And to be able to do 10K on the treadmill by the end of the year.
    I would LOVE to do it in just under 30 minutes but so far my best time is 35:57.

    I've been sick the past couple days... but back on to running! ^_^ My start date was Saturday, January 1. So, I guess I'm a little behind some of you...

    Am I supposed to be updating everyday, or just a weekly check in? I'm confused! :smile:

    I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get all the miles in, so I started tracking mileage on 12/30, but I think I'm not going to have much difficulty reaching 120 if I keep it up!

    Here's my total so far:
    12/30 and 12/31 total of 7.25 (C25K interval run/walk)
    Sat: 4.9 elliptical
    Sun: 4.85 elliptical
    Mon: 2.8 C25K interval run/walk
    Tues 4.8 elliptical
    Wed 2.4 C25K interval run/walk
    Thurs 4.3 elliptical

    Week #1 Total so far: 24.05
    Grand Total: 31.3

    That is exactly my thought process too. I know it will be a completely different experience and I have a friend that is very knowledgeable when it comes to running and she says it can be a whole different beast. However if I can run 8-10 miles on a treadmill I'm hoping that should make the outdoors at least a little more bearable right?

    @Tara: Great job. It took me almost an hour the first time I did a 5k on the treadmill!
