I am breast feeding a 4 month old exclusively. Ive noticed that simxw ive been eatimg healthier im getting between 15 and 17 hundred calories a day.. This is about 450 too short but i just cant eat anymore. I have 2 servings of oatmeal in the morning and then I'm. Full until about 5PM. I also have a pretty restricted diet.. I cant eat any dairy or soy, no nonkosher foods AND no meat since no stores in my area sell kosher meat.. this leaves me with few options and im lacking in the fats and proteins areas.. please help! Any advice would be tremendously appreciated.

    Can you eat nuts? Avocados?
Those are two high calorie items that might help out.
    Also, almond milk, fruit juices.
Not sure about the Kosher part of those items....

Try eating eggs, beans, lentils, and nuts for more protein. Olive oil, avocados, and fish provide good fats. And to get more calories try drinking natural fruit juices without added sugar.

Also make sure you're still taking prenatal vitamins with DHA.

Avocados and nuts! I cant believe i forgot about 'em. Oh and the beans and fruit juice are good ideas to. Would you happen to know if drknking a serving of fruit juice is like eating a fruit? I take centrum vitamins right now but i think i may return to the prenatals.

You'd be better off eating the fruit for the fiber, but if you're trying to add calories and you're full, juice has all the nutrition of regular fruit without the fiber, which is what keeps you feeling full.

First of all, congrats on the baby! Can you add some peanut butter to your oatmeal in the morning? A few white or garbanzo beans in your salad at lunch; add some black olives, too! It is about augmenting what you are already consuming. Add a banana to a peanut butter sandwich. Sunflower seed butter tastes excellent, too! Good luck!
