:embarassed: And shouldn't be because I'm sure the answer is right in front of me, but I can't seem to get it through my thick skull. When MFP calculates my sedentary lifestyle calories then incorporates my exercise calories, the total number (around 1600 calories), is it allowing for the 500 calorie deficit for weight loss, or am I supposed to do that (not going below 1200)? Am I supposed to eat 1600 calories a day (with exercise) to lose weight, or make the deficit myself? Help my poor food deprived mind...

MFP takes the calories you need to sustain yourself at this weight, and subtracts 500 calories for you! So when it says 1600 calories, it means you should eat 1600 calories.

    Yum!
